Thailand: Khao Yai, Palio Town

It was already 2pm after we had our lunch at Chok Chai Steakhouse. According to my original plan, we were supposed to visit Khao Yai PB Valley Winery and Palio Town. However, due to some miscommunication, we didn't get to visit the winery as planned. Only managed to take some pictures of the vineyard. It's enough to excite the kids to see grapes hanging on the vines.

The kids could not resist the temptation of the grapes and wanted to try some fresh grapes. The stay was brief but I think it was enough for the kids. Those with older kids might want to visit the winery for the tour cum wine tasting. They also have a separate package for wine and dine.

Since it was still early, I decided to go to Palio Town in Khao Yai. It was about 45 minutes drive from Chok Chai farm. It is a nice, Italy-inspired, quaint town. However, it's really very far.

It is a small town with some shops. Nothing to shout about. We merely walked around for 30 minutes while the kids napped on the bus. It will be a suitable resting point for visitors to the Khao Yai National Park.

It took us 3 hours to return to hotel from Palio town. Fortunately, it was a Sunday and the road conditions were much better than weekdays. I think the winery will not be as good as those in France or Australia but it will be nice to combine the visit with Chok Chai farm. As for Palio town, it is really quite a distance away. The travelling time will probably exceed the time spent at the attraction itself.
